“Is This All?” They Wondered

Mykola and Halyna have been married for many years. Their own children had already grown up, made their own ways, and now it seemed that the time had come for peace and comfort. However, a quiet but persistent thought kept burdening their hearts. “Is this all?” they wondered.  There was a desire to go further, to serve, to give warmth to someone else who really needed it.

This is how the decision was born that changed their lives forever: Mykola and Halyna opened their doors to six children. It was a very bold step; not easy at all, but deeply important. One of the girls has serious health problems, so the family now has more to worry about. However, along with these challenges also comes real joy, new emotions, children’s laughter, hugs, and sincere words of gratitude.

This couple repeatedly asks themselves what motivated them to take this step? Why did they do it? The answer came not through reflection, but through a meeting with believers who lovingly shared the Gospel. The believers told Mykola and Halyna about Christ, His sacrifice, and His boundless love for each of us. The couple realized that just as they have loved these children-not for their merits, not for their background, but simply because of who they are, Christ loves them in the same way.

Halyna speaks sincerely about how this love that lives in their hearts is not of their own making. It is a gift from God. It was God who gave them the strength, inspiration, and desire to become a family to their new children. It is He Who supports them on difficult days and fills their souls with joy in the simple moments.

Five of the six children recently attended a Christian camp organized by the church. It was a special time filled with new friends, games, creativity, and most importantly, getting to know God through Bible stories, songs, and prayers. The children returned from the camp with smiles and new impressions. Many of them really thought about God for the first time.

Halyna is happy to see the Lord working not only in the children, but also in her heart. God is changing her heart and expanding the boundaries of love.

This family is an example of how God’s love can be manifested through ordinary people. Their story reminds us that if we are open to listening to God’s voice, He will bring His children to the places where they are needed most. And it is there, where true joy is born in serving, sacrifice, and daily care.

In addition, I would like to sincerely thank you for the food packages and hygiene assistance that this family received. Now, more than ever, such help is very much needed. And it was in this simple but important support that they once again felt God’s love and care. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
