Compassion Ministry – two stories from Ukraine

Peter, is almost 80 years old and lives alone. His children are grown up. They have moved away. There is no one to look after him. He has worked all his active life. Working in a collective farm brigade, he made many friends. Now he is a disabled man and almost a bedridden. Only his neighbour comes from time to time, brings him something to eat or goes to the store when he needs it.

His friends have gone and there are not many of them left. Peter was a very good stove-builder in the past. He built stoves for many villagers, which warmed many families with its warmth. And today, he is warmed by every visit of the believers, who bring comfort and remind him that his heart can be warmed by Jesus.

The distribution of food aid is another reason to come and remind him of his soul, where will it be? Being open to communication and grateful for the food and attention, when we speak with him, gives its results. He becomes more open and joyful!

God bless you all, our dear friends, who care, love, pray..!

Masha (Maria), is a lonely elderly person. Her family life never really worked out. The dream of a large family, cheerful and naughty grandchildren remained only a dream. She painfully recalls the difficult post-war years with her parents and sister and never expected to hear the word “war” in her adult life.

They live out their old age together with her sister, supporting each other. Evangelical believers invited them to evangelistic meetings. So the two sisters went to see what it was all about. And there was the Word of God, about hope, about support, about love, about the joyful end of life with God, which never ends after death.

And after the meeting they received such a bonus: wonderful food packages from sponsors! It’s hard to hold back the tears.

Only God can give everything: hope, joy, support, and care. He is Wonderful and Good!

Many thanks to the SGA mission and sponsors for this opportunity to provide such events with food packages!
